Add a free AI chatbot to WordPress with Jotform
An assistant that answers your site's repeat questions, trained on your own material, with no code involved.
Short answer
Jotform lets you create an AI agent trained on your content (frequently asked questions, documents, your site's URL) and publish it on WordPress by pasting a code snippet or using the official plugin. The free plan is enough for a chatbot with moderate volume. The important part is keeping it narrow: an agent that only answers about your business is useful; one that tries to answer anything will embarrass you.

Antes de empezar necesitas
- A free Jotform account
- A WordPress site with administrator access
- Your business information ready: FAQs, pricing, policies
Most of the questions that reach a site are the same five: opening hours, prices, coverage, delivery times and how to hire you. Answering them one by one is work that can be automated without losing quality.
1. Create the agent
In Jotform, go to the AI agents section and create a new one. You give it a name and a welcome message in Spanish.
2. Feed it your information
You can load your site's URL so it reads it, upload documents with your policies and add hand-written frequently asked questions.
Hand-written FAQs are the ones that work best: total control over the exact answer you want to give.
3. Limit what it can say
This is the step that separates a useful assistant from a problem. In the agent's instructions, be explicit:
Responde únicamente con la información de las fuentes cargadas.
Si la pregunta no está cubierta, di que no tienes ese dato y ofrece
el formulario de contacto. No inventes precios, plazos ni promociones.
4. Publish it on WordPress
Jotform gives you a code snippet to paste. You can put it in the theme footer using a scripts plugin, or use the official integration. The widget appears as a bubble in the corner.
5. Review the conversations during the first week
This is where the real value is. The questions people actually ask, and that your agent could not answer, are the best to-do list for your FAQ section.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
There is a free plan with monthly usage limits. For a small site it is enough; if the chatbot gets a lot of traffic, you will need a paid plan. Check the current limits on their site before relying on it.
Can it make up answers?
Yes, if you leave it open. That is why you have to restrict it to your sources and explicitly tell it to say it does not know when the question falls outside them. Configure it that way from the start.
Does it replace a human in customer service?
It filters the repeated questions, which are usually the majority. For complaints, edge cases or anything involving money, always leave an exit toward a person.
Does it affect site speed?
The widget loads asynchronously, so the impact is small. Even so, measure before and after: any third party script adds something.
